Most us women can
probably all agree that we have kept some of our makeup for way too
long. The truth of the matter is, makeup does not last until
WE get ready to get rid of it. It goes by its own time frame.
And we've decided to help you get the answers you need to that
pressing question: "How long is too long to keep my makeup?"
It is important to
throw away old makeup after it has served its purpose for way too
long. The same importance goes along with cleaning your makeup
applicators to keep bacteria at bay.
Foundation:
Do not keep liquid foundations longer than four to six months.
Powder foundations can be kept for as long as a year.
Blush:
Powder blushes can be kept for a year.
Eye
Shadow:
A year to two years is the time limit for eye shadows.
Mascara:
It is easy for bacteria to settle in mascara and that leads to
the possibility of eye infections or irritation. Mascara needs
to be replaced every four weeks.
Lipstick:
This item may last up to three months, but if it smells funny, throw
it out.
Makeup Pencils (Eye Liner, Lip Liner, etc.):
Sharpen your pencils before each use and keep the caps on all of
them and they should last up to six months.
Keeping
your makeup tools clean will also help your makeup last for its
maximum time. Now that you know how long you should be keeping
your beauty products, it's time to clean out that makeup bag!
