School
is out--What will the kids do all summer long? Well we're here
to give you some tips and helpful hints on how to make this an
enjoyable summer for your kids. The summer can also be
educational for your kids if you plan and be creative with what you
do. Here are some things to do:
Plan a family
vacation/time: Even if it's a weekend trip to the
country. Or plan a full weekend of quality time with your
child. Anything out or the norm will be exciting to
them. Learningvacations.com gives you great ideas on
where you can take your young ones.
Go to the museum:
It's a fun way to sneak some education into their summer! They
can learn all about the exhibits while spending time with
you.
Visit the library:
Libraries usually have programs in the summer--reading programs and
storytelling. Aside from that, they usually have computers
with children's activities on them and your child can rent video
tapes and check out books.
Build a family
album: Collecting pictures, decorating a scrapbook, and
talking about the memories from those photos with your child can be
fun.
Go to the zoo:
Seeing the animals, buying candy, buying toys can be fun. They
can learn all about the animals and how they live. If it's too
hot for you to go to the zoo, why not sit down with your child and
watch the Discovery Channel and talk about some of the animals on
Animal Kingdom or some of the other shows talking about animals.
Go to the park:
A picnic in the park is always a fun idea and there's lots of things
for the kids to do to have fun and be active.
Anytime well spent
with your kids will mean a lot to them this summer!
