Are you still debating on whether or not
to free yourself from being a slave of chemicals? Why is
making the decision so hard? It is a hard decision because the
choice requires a commitment! When going natural you have to
commit to a totally different way of caring for your hair. You
have to have a great deal of patience to deal with the new texture
of your hair as it is not the same as what you have been used
to.
How you would like to start the
process is up to you. One choice is to just let your relaxer
grow out and continue to get a roller set or straw set until your
hair gets long enough to cut of the relaxed ends and style.
When doing this, you will have to deal with (very delicately) two
types of hair textures: relaxed and natural. And where
they meet, will be weaker than other parts of your hair. The
easiest way is to cut of all relaxed hair at the moment the decision
is made to go natural and start caring for your new hair.
It is best to let a professional cut
your hair and give you some hair care tips when making the
transition. Here's a list of natural
hair care salons.
