Health &
Fitness This Holiday Season, Don't
Pile on The Pounds--Stay Fit!
The
holidays are here and like many of us, it is the time we eat the
most. A big holiday feast is inevitable. It's such a
happy time to celebrate with friends, family and significant
others. It's also a time where you can really pack on the
pounds!
This year, don't let your New Year's
revolution be "to lose weight"--let it be to
"maintain healthy eating and habits."
Here
are some tips for the holidays:
Load up on the veggies
instead of the meats and desserts
Eat a small healthy meal
before going out so you won't eat as much
If you're cooking the
dinner, substitute more healthful choices in recipes (i.e.
egg whites instead of whole eggs)
Whether or not you fill up
on food, take a brisk walk after dinner with a friend or
family member to burn some calories
If you have a sweet tooth,
bring your own lowfat dessert to dinner and "have
your cake and eat it too"
